Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam
The southern and best known of Kovalam’s three crescents, named for the red-and-white striped Vizhinjam lighthouse standing on the headland above it. It is the most developed beach in Kerala — a paved promenade of restaurants and shops runs behind the sand — and the most convenient, at half an hour from Trivandrum airport.
