When to go to the Philippines
The most comfortable window — dry, sunny and less humid, with calm seas for island hopping. Peak season, so book Palawan flights and accommodation well ahead.
Hotter but still dry, with the best underwater visibility of the year. April and May are excellent for diving, though the heat inland is significant.
The wet season overlaps the typhoon window, and storms genuinely disrupt inter-island flights and ferries. Eastern islands are most exposed; travel is possible but needs flexibility and insurance.
Statistically the most active typhoon months. Palawan is less affected than the east, but this is the period to avoid tight itineraries and non-refundable bookings.

Philippines entry — visa-free, with a form
Since 8 June 2025 all Indian passport holders may enter the Philippines visa-free for up to fourteen days for tourism, and that fourteen days is neither extendable nor convertible. You must present a passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay, a confirmed hotel booking, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket to your next destination. Indians holding a valid and current visa or residence permit from Australia, Canada, Japan, a Schengen country, Singapore, the United States or the United Kingdom qualify for thirty days instead, on the same passport-validity and onward-ticket conditions. Either tier may be used at any Philippine port of entry, and you must have no derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration. If you are transiting, or travelling for a purpose the scheme does not cover, you need a visa. Separately, every traveller must complete eTravel registration.
eTravel Registration produces a QR code that airline staff may check at boarding and immigration will scan on arrival. It is free, online, and must be done in the 72 hours before departure.
