When is your Chile?
The desert works in any month. Nights are cold at altitude throughout, and the brief highland rains around January and February can close some routes for a day or two.
The dependable window for Torres del Paine — long daylight, open trails and running services. Outside it, weather and closures make the far south difficult.
Autumn brings the harvest and colour to the valleys; spring is green and quiet. Midsummer in the capital is hot and dry.
Warmest and driest in the far southern summer. It is a genuinely rainy region for much of the rest of the year.
Subtropical and mild throughout, with a wetter stretch in the southern autumn. Flight availability matters more than weather here.

Chile visa — what you need to know
Indian passport holders normally require a visa for Chile, applied for through the Chilean consulate covering their state. There is one significant exemption, and it is worth checking first because it removes the application entirely.
Once you are in Chile The 90-day tourist stay can be extended by a further 90 days through the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones.
