Greece Visa — What You Need to Know
Greece is part of the Schengen Area. Indian travellers apply for a short-stay Schengen visa in advance, typically through VFS Global on behalf of the Greek Embassy/Consulate, with confirmed flights, accommodation, insurance and financial documents.
Applying for the Schengen Visa Apply where Greece is your main destination (most nights). Book an appointment via VFS Global, submit documents and biometrics, and allow several weeks in peak season. We provide a full document checklist, confirmed itinerary and covering support for every Greece journey. Visa regulations may change without prior notice. Travellers should verify the latest requirements with the Greek embassy/consulate or the official VFS Global Greece visa service before travel. On timing, be careful how the fifteen-day figure is read: it is the standard decision period, generally fifteen calendar days after an admissible application has been received, and it is not a guaranteed end-to-end visa timeline. Further scrutiny or consultation between Schengen states can extend it, and appointment availability, biometrics and passport return all add time on top. Apply well in advance rather than to the minimum — applications can generally be lodged up to six months before travel, and that is the end of the window to plan to.
