When is your Morocco?
Warm days in the cities, snow still on the Atlas behind Marrakech, wildflowers in the valleys and comfortable nights in the desert. The busiest season for good reason. Check the Ramadan dates — in 2027 it falls in February and March, and daytime cafés and some restaurants close outside the hotels.
The summer heat breaks in September, the dunes become comfortable again by day and are not yet cold at night, and the cities are pleasant. October is arguably the single best month for a full loop that includes the Sahara.
Mild and often sunny in Marrakech and on the coast, and the quietest time in the medinas. Riads are cold without heating, the Atlas passes see snow, and desert nights fall close to freezing — pack for it and the desert is still magnificent.
Marrakech, Fez and the desert regularly pass 40°C and the dunes are best avoided. Essaouira, the northern coast and the High Atlas are the summer destinations, and the Gnaoua music festival brings Essaouira alive in June.

Morocco visa — what you need to know
Indian passport holders have been able to apply for a Moroccan e-visa online since 10 January 2023, according to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in New Delhi. Applications are made at the official e-visa portal, acces-maroc.ma. For anything the e-visa does not cover, applications go to the embassy's consular service through its accredited application centres in India.
Fee and processing, as published The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in New Delhi states that Indian nationals have been eligible for the e-visa since 10 January 2023, that applications are made at acces-maroc.ma, that processing is estimated at between 24 and 72 hours, and that the e-visa has a duration of 30 days and can be extended up to six months with multiple entry. The portal's own price list, read on 2 September 2026, showed a Standard service at 770 dirhams over three to seven working days and an Express service at 1,100 dirhams over one to three working days, each for a 30-day stay on an e-visa valid for 180 days, with the note that a file may take up to the upper figure if an additional security check is required. Where the two official figures differ, plan against the longer one. Neither is an end-to-end timeline — creating the account, gathering the attachments and any request for a supplement all sit outside it. For a regular visa through the accredited centres the embassy publishes no fee and no timeline. Fees and timeframes are set by the Moroccan authorities and change; confirm both when you apply. Final visa decisions remain with the relevant authorities.
