Why this territory

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu is a union territory formed by merging two earlier territories under an Act of Parliament passed in 2019. It holds three separate places: Diu, an island town off the Gujarat coast; Daman, a fort town on the coast further south; and Silvassa, inland among hills and lakes. Their shared thread is a Portuguese past, visible in forts and churches.

Warm all year on the coast. Winter is gentler and Silvassa is cooler than Diu and Daman.

Nov – FebThe mild stretch. December maximums are about 28–33°C at Daman and Diu, per Incredible India monthly figures, and Silvassa is cooler, with winter minimums of about 4–6°C.
Mar – JunHot. Diu and Daman maximums reach about 37–39°C in April and May.
Jul – SepMonsoon, with maximums of about 30–35°C at the coast. Check sea conditions before planning beach time.
OctStill warm, with maximums around 34–37°C at Diu and Daman.
