Lumbini Park
Lumbini Park is a small lakeside park on the southern shore of Hussain Sagar, and its usefulness to a visitor is mostly that it is the jetty. Boats run from here out to the monolithic Buddha statue standing on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake, which is the reason most people come. The park itself is a municipal garden with lawns, a musical fountain in the evenings and a view north across the water to the Necklace Road embankment. It works best as a late-afternoon hour rather than a destination in its own right, and it sits close enough to NTR Gardens that the two are usually done together.

Late afternoon into the evening, in the cool season.
When to go
- Late afternoon, for the light on the lake and the boat out to the statue.
- October to February; the lakeside is exposed and hot from March.
- Weekends and holidays are busy — the park is heavily used by the city.

Set expectations correctly and it is a good hour.
Practical
- The boat and the park are ticketed separately.
- Boat services can be suspended in rough or windy weather on the lake.
- Treat it as an hour attached to NTR Gardens rather than a half day on its own.
