About

NTR Gardens

NTR Gardens is a large landscaped public garden on the southern shore of Hussain Sagar, laid out beside Lumbini Park and named for N. T. Rama Rao. It is a civic amenity rather than a monument: lawns, water features, themed planting and paths, heavily used by families in the evenings and at weekends. For a visitor it is worth an hour in the cool part of the day, usually combined with Lumbini Park and the lake next door. Anyone expecting a historic site will be in the wrong place; anyone wanting an hour of green in the middle of a hot city has found the right one.
