Small Group Journeys

Travel Together, Without Travelling in a Herd

Group departures capped small enough that the guide knows your name and the restaurant can seat everyone at one table. Fixed dates, shared cost, none of the coach-tour compromises.

What a Live Traveller Group Journey Means

👥 Deliberately Small

Groups are capped so the itinerary stays flexible. A small group can change a morning plan for good weather; a coachload cannot.

📅 Fixed Dates, Shared Cost

Departures are set in advance, which is what makes guiding, private transport and better hotels affordable per person. You book a seat, not a whole trip.

🍽️ Indian Dietary Needs Handled

Vegetarian, Jain and halal requirements are collected at booking and arranged with each restaurant ahead of arrival, not negotiated at the table.

🧭 A Specialist Who Travels With You

Every departure has a Live Traveller specialist on the ground, alongside local guides — one point of contact for the whole journey.

🛡️ Solo Travellers Welcome

A large share of group travellers book alone. Room-share matching is offered, and single supplements are shown before you pay rather than after.

🎒 Genuinely Paced

Fewer cities, longer stays. Group journeys are built around two or three bases rather than a new hotel every night.

Who Group Departures Suit
🙋 Solo travellersCompany without commitment

Built-in company and a specialist on the ground, with room-share matching if you want it.

👨‍👩‍👧 FamiliesSomeone else plans it

Fixed dates and a handled itinerary, so the holiday does not become a second job.

🎓 Senior travellersPaced and supported

Slower routing, fewer hotel changes, and help with luggage and transfers throughout.

🤝 Friends travelling togetherShared cost, no admin

Split the cost of guiding and transport without anyone becoming the group organiser.

Group Tour Questions

Deliberately small. Group size is capped per departure and shown on each journey page before you book, because it is the single thing that most changes the experience — small groups keep flexible itineraries, table bookings and guide attention that a coachload cannot.
Yes, and a large proportion of group travellers do. You can book a private room with a single supplement shown up front, or opt into room-share matching with another solo traveller of the same gender. Nothing about the itinerary changes for solo guests.
Yes. Dietary requirements are collected at the time of booking and passed to each restaurant, hotel and camp before arrival, rather than raised at the table. Jain requirements need the most notice because they are the hardest to arrange abroad, so tell us as early as possible.
A group tour runs on fixed dates with a shared cost and a set route. A private journey runs on your dates, at your pace, with the itinerary built around you and priced for your party alone. Groups cost less per person; private journeys give complete control. Both use the same guides and standards.
Every departure has a minimum number required to run. If a date does not reach it, we contact you well before travel with the options — move to another departure, convert to a private journey at a quoted difference, or take a full refund of what you have paid us.
Two to four months for most destinations, and considerably earlier for peak windows — Japan in cherry blossom, Europe in summer, and anything over Indian school holidays. Group departures are capped, so the constraint is seats rather than availability at the hotels.
