Uttar Pradesh packages a five-day Varanasi–Prayagraj–Ayodhya circuit at a fixed price

What it is

The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation has put together a five-day, four-night circuit linking Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya, under the state’s "Visit My State" campaign. Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said it will connect the three cities in one journey; UPSTDC chairman Amrit Abhijat is also named in the announcement.

Prices as published: ₹14,400 per person in a sedan with a minimum of four travellers, or ₹13,000 per person in a Crysta with a minimum of six. That includes air-conditioned transport, a boat ride, guide services, four nights of air-conditioned accommodation on a double-sharing basis and breakfast. Lunch and dinner are paid separately.

The itinerary

Day 1 starts in Varanasi at 1:00 pm with Sankat Mochan and Durga Kund temples, Assi Ghat, a boat ride and the Ganga Aarti. Day 2 covers VIP darshan at Kashi Vishwanath, then Annapurna and Kaal Bhairav temples, followed by Sarnath — the Dhamek and Chaukhandi stupas, the Bodhi tree, the Ashoka pillar and the museum — and Banaras Hindu University.

Day 3 moves to Prayagraj for Anand Bhavan, a dip at the Sangam and the Lete Hanuman Ji temple. Day 4 is Ayodhya: Hanumangarhi, Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal, VIP darshan at the Ram Mandir and the Saryu Ghat aarti. Day 5 is departure after breakfast.

What travellers need to know

The genuine differentiator here is the bundled VIP darshan at both Kashi Vishwanath and the Ram Mandir — the queue is the single biggest variable on this circuit, and a state operator arranging it removes the part private itineraries handle least predictably. Two caveats. First, no booking channel, telephone number or first departure date was published in the announcement, and UPSTDC’s own website was unreachable, so treat this as announced rather than confirmed as on sale; contact UPSTDC directly to book. Second, Day 1 is built around a Varanasi boat ride and the Ganga Aarti, and both have been disrupted by high water on the Ganga — worth asking about before you commit to a date.
