About

Melaka River Cruise

The Melaka River Cruise is a boat service on the river that runs through Melaka's old town. It is operated by Perbadanan Pembangunan Sungai dan Pantai Melaka (PPSPM), the state's river and coastal development corporation, and was launched on 11 November 2005 with two boats; the corporation says it now runs 40. The standard trip is a round journey of about nine kilometres between Taman Rempah and the river mouth, and takes 45 minutes. Along the way it passes the Stadthuys, the backs of the old shophouses, the Malay village of Kampung Morten and a run of painted murals.
