Built in 1503, this is the oldest European church in India, and Vasco da Gama was buried here in 1524 before his remains were moved to Lisbon. The gravestone remains. It is a plain, cool, whitewashed building in the middle of Fort Kochi, and its interest is entirely historical rather than architectural.
