About

Outdoors, and only at night

Unlike teamLab’s enclosed venues in Tokyo, this one uses an existing botanical garden in Nagai Park and switches it on after dark — the trees, the lake and the open lawns become the work, with light responding to where people walk and how the wind moves. Because it is outdoors it changes with the season in a way an indoor installation cannot, and because the garden is real the plants keep growing between visits. It opens only in the evening, and weather can close parts of it.
