The hill resort above Kuala Lumpur
Genting Highlands is a hill resort in Pahang, on the border with Selangor, about an hour from Kuala Lumpur. Tourism Pahang dates the resort to 1965. Most visitors go up by cable car: the Awana SkyWay and Genting SkyWay gondolas link the lower stations with the resort at the top, where the Awana line's upper station stands at 1,725 metres. Genting SkyWorlds, an outdoor theme park with nine themed zones, is the main attraction there, alongside the indoor Skytropolis park. The Chin Swee Caves Temple sits part-way up the slope, with its own cable car station.
