Day-by-day itinerary
Our representative meets you at Queen Alia International Airport before passport control and helps with the entry formalities. Once you have your luggage, your driver takes you to your hotel in Amman. The rest of the day is free. No meals are included today.
This is a full day on the road. After breakfast you drive north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns anywhere, and walk its colonnaded streets to the Oval Plaza, the Temple of Artemis and the Roman Theatre. You then turn south to Madaba, the City of Mosaics, for St George's Church and its sixth-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, and the Byzantine mosaics of the archaeological park. At Mount Nebo, where by tradition Moses looked out over the Promised Land, the view takes in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. From there you continue to Petra and check in for the night. Meals included today: breakfast.
After breakfast you visit Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, with a guide on the main trail for about two and a half hours: through the Siq to the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), then on to the Royal Tombs and the Colonnaded Street. In the afternoon you drive south to Wadi Rum, with its red dunes and sandstone mountains, and stay at a desert camp, where dinner is served. One two-hour 4x4 tour of the desert is part of the package; it runs either this afternoon before sunset or tomorrow morning, and your quotation states which. Meals included today: breakfast and dinner.
After breakfast at the camp, and the 4x4 tour if it was not taken yesterday, you drive north to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. You check in at a resort on the shore and have the rest of the day to float in the salt water. Dinner at the resort is not included unless you add the half-board option. Meals included today: breakfast.
After breakfast and a last morning at the resort you are driven to Queen Alia International Airport, where the package services end. A departure flight at 14:00 or later is recommended. Meals included today: breakfast.
