Day-by-day itinerary
You arrive at Narita or Haneda and are transferred privately to your Tokyo hotel, where the first three nights are spent. The rest of the day is free to adjust to the time difference, which is worth doing before the touring begins in earnest the following morning. · Tokyo
A day across Tokyo taking in the Senso-ji temple at Asakusa with its Nakamise-dori approach of small shops, the Tokyo Skytree observation deck at 350 metres, and teamLab — a digital art space where the works respond to the people moving through them. · Tokyo
A full day north into the mountains to Nikko. The day takes in Edo Wonderland, a recreated Edo-period town, Lake Chuzenji at altitude, and the Kanmangafuchi Abyss with its row of stone jizo statues along the river. · Tokyo
A day trip to Mount Fuji with a Lake Ashi cruise, the Owakudani ropeway and the Fuji 5th Station, then the bullet train from Odawara to Kyoto. On arrival there is time for the Arashiyama bamboo grove, a Japanese tea ceremony and the Fushimi Inari shrine. · Kyoto
A day across Kyoto taking in the gold-leafed Kinkaku-ji, the Arashiyama bamboo grove and the Fushimi Inari shrine with its corridors of vermilion torii gates climbing the hillside. · Kyoto

A full day west by bullet train from Osaka to Hiroshima and across to Miyajima island. The day takes in the Itsukushima shrine, a photo stop at its floating torii gate, the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. · Kyoto
Breakfast at the hotel, then check out and a private transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Your onward flight is not part of this package, so allow the check-in time your airline requires.
