Day-by-day itinerary
You land at Phnom Penh airport, where you are met and driven to your hotel in Phnom Penh. Rooms are available from the hotel's standard check-in time. The afternoon is a private tour with your guide: the Royal Palace, the residence of the King of Cambodia; the National Museum, with one of the great collections of Khmer sculpture, ceramics and bronzes; and Wat Phnom, the hilltop temple that gives the city its name, where local people come to pray and watch the sunset. You stay overnight in Phnom Penh. No meals are included today.
After breakfast and check-out a driver takes you to the bus station for the scheduled bus to Siem Reap; the ticket is included. On arrival you are met and driven to your hotel. You stay overnight in Siem Reap. Meals included today: breakfast.
A shared guided day, with pick-up at about 7:40 and return at about 18:30. The morning is inside the walled city of Angkor Thom, at the Bayon with its carved stone faces, and at Ta Prohm, the temple left among the tree roots. The afternoon is at Angkor Wat, the largest temple of the complex. The day ends on Phnom Bakheng for the sunset; numbers on the hilltop are limited to 300 at a time. You stay overnight in Siem Reap. Meals included today: breakfast.
A shared half-day tour, run either in the morning, from about 7:40 to 13:30, or in the afternoon, from about 13:40 to 19:30. It starts at the Roluos market, where villagers sell what they grow, and at a local pagoda. You then travel by boat through Kampong Phluk, a village whose houses stand on stilts eight to ten metres above the ground, with its school, farm and clinic all built for a lake that rises and falls with the seasons. The rest of the day is free. You stay overnight in Siem Reap. Meals included today: breakfast.
After breakfast and check-out the time is your own until a driver takes you to Siem Reap airport for your flight home. The package services end at the airport. Meals included today: breakfast.
