Day-by-day itinerary
You are met at the airport or station and taken to your hotel. Jaipur was painted pink over a century ago to honour a visiting prince, and the rest of the day is yours.
A full-day tour covers Amber Fort and Palace, a photo stop at Jal Mahal, the City Palace Museum, the Jantar Mantar observatory and the Hawa Mahal, with the evening free for the bazaars.
You drive to Samode and check in to a heritage hotel in a rural setting. In the evening there is an optional village walk and a chance to meet local artisans, subject to availability.
You drive to Mandawa in the Shekhawati region and check in. The afternoon is for the havelis of Shekhawati, known for their painted frescoes.
After breakfast you drive to Gajner, near Bikaner, and check in to a heritage property beside Gajner Lake. The late evening is for a nature walk or leisure time.
You drive towards Jaisalmer and check in at the heritage fort property of Mohangarh, about 50 km from Jaisalmer city. The evening is for the quiet of the desert and Rajasthani hospitality.
Sightseeing in Jaisalmer takes in Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake. You then drive towards the Sam Sand Dunes, stopping at the abandoned village of Kuldhara and the cenotaphs at Bada Bagh. At the dunes you check in to a desert camp, take a camel or jeep safari for the sunset, and enjoy folk music and dance in the evening.
After breakfast you drive to Luni, near Jodhpur, and check in to a heritage property in a rural setting. The evening is at leisure.
After breakfast you drive through the Aravalli Hills to Udaipur, the City of Lakes, and check in for the night.
A day at the City Palace above Lake Pichola, the Jagdish Temple and the Saheliyon ki Bari garden, with a boat ride on Lake Pichola in the afternoon and the Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace for the view at sunset. The day ends at Bagore Ki Haveli.
After breakfast you are driven to Udaipur airport for your onward journey.
