Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia's capital: the Petronas Twin Towers, Merdeka Square and the Lake Gardens, with Genting Highlands an hour away.
Malaysia's capital
Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia's capital. The Petronas Twin Towers, 452 metres tall, anchor the KLCC district, where the paid visit takes in the Skybridge and an observation deck on level 86. Across the centre, Merdeka Square is where the Malayan flag was first raised in 1957; the Sultan Abdul Samad Building facing it reopened its first block to visitors in February 2026 after restoration. The Lake Gardens hold the KL Bird Park, a walk-in aviary, and Aquaria KLCC sits beneath the convention centre in the KLCC district. Genting Highlands is about an hour away by road and cable car.

A few points that shape how the days are arranged.
Timing
- Plan the towers, KLCC Park and Aquaria for the same half-day; all three are in the KLCC district.
- Aquaria KLCC lists its last entry at 7pm, so it fits after an afternoon tower slot.
- KL Bird Park lists daily hours of 9am to 5.30pm; go in the morning before the heat builds.
Weather
- Malaysia's meteorological department describes uniform temperatures year-round and humidity of 80 to 90 per cent; carry water on walking days.
