Day-by-day itinerary
You are met at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and driven into the city, about half an hour away when traffic allows. The rest of the day is your own. The seafront boulevard is an easy first walk, and the walled Old City with its lanes and caravanserais sits close to most central hotels.
Your driver collects you after breakfast for the run out to Dreamland Golf Club at Novkhani, around 25 kilometres from central Baku on the Absheron peninsula. Your green fee and golf cart are arranged for a full eighteen holes. Expect wind off the Caspian to play its part, then return to the hotel for a free evening.
A second day at Dreamland, with another eighteen holes, green fee and golf cart included. Knowing the course from the day before, you can plan the round differently or simply enjoy it at an easier pace. Caddies can be booked at the club and are paid there. The evening is free in Baku.
A full day on the Absheron peninsula north-east of the city, with entry tickets included. At Surakhani the Ateshgah fire temple, a walled courtyard of cells around an altar, was used by fire worshippers and traders from India. Later you reach Yanar Dag, where natural gas seeping through the rock keeps a long wall of flame alight.
Breakfast at the hotel and time to pack before your driver drives you to the airport for the flight home. If your flight leaves late, the morning is free for a last walk on the boulevard or through the Old City, and the hotel can usually hold your bags after check-out.
