A panoramic bus tour of Madrid across two routes. One covers historic Madrid — the Paseo del Prado, the Habsburg royal legacy, the Royal Palace and the Temple of Debod. The other covers the modern city, from Atocha station to Nuevos Ministerios and across to the Puerta de Alcalá and the Puerta del Sol. · Madrid
You make your own way to Madrid station for the train south to Seville, and your own way from Seville station to your hotel. Check-in is from around three in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free. · Seville
A hop-on hop-off day in Seville. The cathedral and the Alcázar stand together in the old centre, the river runs past the bullring and the Torre del Oro, and the Plaza de España sits in a park south of the centre — spread widely enough to need the route. · Seville
You make your own way to Seville station for the train across the country to Valencia, and your own way from Valencia station to your hotel. The line runs from the south-west to the east coast and it is the longest rail leg of the trip. · Valencia
A hop-on hop-off day in Valencia. The old city sits inside a ring where the walls once stood, the river was diverted after a flood and its dry bed is now a park running through the city, and the modern arts and sciences complex stands at the far end of it. · Valencia
You make your own way to the station for the train up the coast to Barcelona, and your own way from Barcelona station to your hotel. The line follows the Mediterranean for much of the way. The rest of the day is free. · Barcelona
A hop-on hop-off day in Barcelona. The Gothic quarter and the waterfront sit well apart from the Modernista buildings uptown, and the route is what keeps the day from being spent on transport. The rest of the day is free. · Barcelona
