Day-by-day itinerary
Met at the airport and driven into the city. The first evening is for the Seine and the Île de la Cité, with dinner in the Latin Quarter. Overnight in Paris.
A route through the Louvre with a timed entry — the pieces you came for, without attempting the rest — then the Tuileries gardens and the Palais-Royal arcades in the afternoon, and the river cruise in the evening. Overnight in Paris.
The Impressionists at the Musée d'Orsay in the morning, in the old railway station on the left bank. In the late afternoon the Eiffel Tower with pre-booked tickets, and the Trocadéro across the river to watch it light up. Overnight in Paris.
The palace and its gardens, forty minutes from the city by train, which need most of a day — the Hall of Mirrors and state apartments in the morning, the gardens and the Trianon estate after lunch. Back to Paris for the evening. Overnight in Paris.
The fast train down the length of France to the Mediterranean, with the coast alongside for the last stretch. The old town lanes and the Promenade des Anglais on arrival, and dinner in the Cours Saleya. Overnight in Nice.
Along the coast to the hill village of Èze, with its exotic garden on the summit above the sea, then down to Monaco for the harbour, the old town on the rock and the casino square. Back to Nice by train. Overnight in Nice.
West along the coast: the Croisette and the old quarter at Cannes, then the old port and ramparts at Antibes, with the Picasso museum in the castle above the sea. A last Riviera evening in Nice. Overnight in Nice.
