Georgia Golf in the Capital: Tbilisi Hills, Tabori and the Old Town, 4 Nights

You are met at Tbilisi International Airport and driven to your hotel, usually around half an hour. Many flights to Tbilisi land very early in the morning, so the first day is kept free for rest. In the evening the restaurants of the old town and Rustaveli Avenue are an easy introduction to Georgian cooking.

After breakfast your driver takes you out of the city to Tbilisi Hills Golf Club for a full eighteen-hole round, with your green fee and GPS buggy arranged. The course sits in rolling country above the capital, with wide views on a clear day. You are back in Tbilisi by late afternoon with the evening free.

A lighter golf day: nine holes at Tabori Golf Club, again with the green fee and GPS buggy included. The shorter round leaves the afternoon open for a rest at the hotel, a wander through the Dry Bridge market, or a long Georgian lunch with a glass of wine from Kakheti.

A full day for the city itself. The tour usually takes in the old town around Metekhi church, the sulphur bath district of Abanotubani and the Peace Bridge, and your cable car ticket carries you from Rike Park up to the Narikala fortress. From the walls the whole of Tbilisi spreads along the Mtkvari river below.

Breakfast and a last look at the city before your driver drives you to the airport for the flight home. With a later flight there is time for a coffee on Rustaveli Avenue or a final stop for churchkhela, the walnut sweets sold on strings, to take back as gifts.
