A lava tunnel tour — a cave left behind when molten rock drained out from under a cooled crust — followed by the Golden Circle: Thingvellir, where the Atlantic rift runs visibly through a valley and Iceland's parliament was founded; the hot spring at Geysir; and the Gullfoss waterfall. · Reykjavik
A day along the south coast. It is a run of black sand beaches, basalt columns and waterfalls below the ice caps, with the glaciers visible inland for most of the way. The coastline here is open Atlantic and the weather changes quickly. · Reykjavik
