Day-by-day itinerary
You are collected in Delhi, from the airport or New Delhi railway station, and driven north to the hills. The road runs through the Doon valley before winding up to Mussoorie. The day is given to the journey alone; sightseeing waits until morning, and dinner is served at the hotel.
Mussoorie’s sights are spread along its ridge and the car links them through the day: Gun Hill, the town’s best-known viewpoint; Christ Church, among the oldest in the Himalaya; and Lal Tibba at the Landour end. In between come Mussoorie Lake, the Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Happy Valley and two waterfalls, Jharipani and Mossy Falls. Tickets for the Gun Hill ropeway and any entry fees are paid as you go.
A relaxed transfer down from the ridge to Rishikesh, on the Ganga at the foot of the hills. No sightseeing is scheduled, since the whole of tomorrow is set aside for the town. Settle in, and if you like, find your way to the river for a first look before dinner at the hotel.
Rishikesh’s day follows the river. Triveni Ghat is the town’s principal ghat, busy with bathers and offerings. Upstream, the footbridges of Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula cross the Ganga to the temple-lined east bank, where Parmarth Niketan stands at the water’s edge. The day also includes Neer Garh Waterfall, reached by a short forest path. Rafting is optional and not included.
The route turns east today, keeping to the base of the hills as it runs from the Ganga to the Ramganga and Kosi country around Jim Corbett National Park. It is a transfer day with nothing scheduled on arrival. Resorts here sit among sal forest, and the evening is for settling in.
A day in the Corbett landscape without entering the core forest. The car visits the Dhangarhi gate and its small museum on the park’s history and wildlife, the Garjiya Devi temple perched on a rock in the Kosi, and the river itself. A jungle safari is not included; if you want one, it must be booked ahead and is quoted separately.
After breakfast the car drives you back to Delhi and drops you at the airport or at New Delhi railway station. As the day is a full road journey, please plan an evening departure. We settle the leaving time from Corbett with you once your flight or train is confirmed.
