Day-by-day itinerary
You are met at Calicut airport and driven to your hotel. Calicut is where Vasco da Gama landed in 1498, which makes it the point at which European trade with India began. The rest of the day is free. · Calicut
You drive inland and upward to Wayanad, about three hours through the northern Western Ghats, climbing steeply through forest and plantation country. You check in and the remainder of the day is free in noticeably cooler air. · Wayanad
A day of Wayanad sightseeing through the district's plantation and forest country — coffee, pepper and cardamom grow here, and the hills are among the greenest in the state. · Wayanad
You drive north to Bekal on the coast, about five hours, descending from the hills and rejoining the sea. The rest of the day is free once you reach the coast. · Bekal
A day of Bekal sightseeing. The fort there is among the largest and best preserved in Kerala, built on a headland with the sea on three sides, and the beach runs below it. · Bekal
You drive south along the coast to Kannur, about two and a half hours. The district is known for its handloom weaving, its beaches and its theyyam ritual tradition. The rest of the day is free. · Kannur
A day of Kannur sightseeing, taking in the district's coastal and cultural sights. Kannur sits away from the main tourist routes and the beaches here are quiet by Kerala standards. · Kannur
After breakfast you check out and are driven back down the coast to Calicut airport for your onward flight. Your onward flight is not part of this package, so allow the check-in time your airline requires.
