Day-by-day itinerary
You are met at the airport by a representative and driven to your hotel in a private vehicle. Paris is compact in the centre and worth an hour on foot once you have checked in. The rest of the day is free. · Paris
A full day on the landmarks. The city tour covers the principal monuments and quarters, the Seine cruise takes in the frontages along the river, and the day finishes at the Eiffel Tower. It is one day, and it covers most of a first visit. · Paris
You make your own way to the station for the train to central Switzerland, and your own way to the hotel on arrival. The run south-east leaves French farmland behind and finishes among mountains. A Lucerne tour can be arranged locally. · Central Switzerland
A full-day excursion to Mount Titlis. The ascent runs by cable car in stages, the last of them rotating slowly so the view turns around you on the way up. The summit stands on a glacier, with an ice cave and a cliff walk, and snow underfoot at any time of year. · Central Switzerland
A full-day excursion to the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe. The cog railway tunnels up inside the mountain for the final stretch, and the station opens onto the Aletsch glacier — the longest in the Alps — with an ice palace cut into it. · Central Switzerland
No touring is scheduled and the day is yours. The lakeside towns near your base are easy to reach independently by train or boat. A high-altitude glacier excursion and a Bollywood locations tour can both be arranged locally; neither is included. · Central Switzerland
Breakfast, then check out and make your way to Lucerne station, where a sector ticket carries you to Zurich airport for your flight home. There is no private airport transfer on this departure, so allow for the rail journey on top of your airline's check-in time.
