Seychelles from Mahé: Island Tour, Reef Day and Praslin–La Digue Excursion, 4 Nights

You are met at Seychelles International Airport on Mahé’s east coast and taken to your hotel. Mahé is the largest island, mountainous and green, with more than sixty beaches around its coast. The rest of the day is free to settle in; sunset over the Indian Ocean is the only thing on the schedule.

A guided day around the island. In Victoria you see the silver clock tower and the cathedral, then the road climbs through forest to the Mission Lodge ruins and the spice plantations of Le Jardin du Roi. After lunch at a local restaurant there is beach time at Anse Royale and a stop at a craft village on the way back.

A glass-bottom boat leaves from the Eden Island marina into the marine park just off Victoria, where the coral and fish are visible through the hull. There is time to snorkel and hand-feed fish, then you land on one of the park’s small islands for a Creole barbecue lunch, a swim and a look at the resident giant tortoises.

A full day on the two islands north-east of Mahé. On La Digue you visit the L’Union estate with its old plantation house and tortoises, and the granite boulders of Anse Source d’Argent. On Praslin you walk in the Vallée de Mai among coco de mer palms, and finish on the white sand of Anse Lazio before the ferry back.

Breakfast at the hotel and a last swim if your flight allows, then the transfer to the airport. Hotel check-out is usually at midday; if you have an evening flight, we can ask about a late check-out or arrange a day room so you are not waiting in the lobby.
