Day-by-day itinerary
You land at Zurich and walk across to the railway station beneath the airport. Your Swiss Travel Pass covers eight consecutive days of travel from here. The evening is free — a walk to the Mühlesteg footbridge over the Limmat is the pleasant way to spend it, and an electric tuk-tuk tour of the old town can be arranged locally. · Zurich
Breakfast, free time until check out, then on to central Switzerland by train. The CabriO is a cable car with an open upper deck — you ride the last stage standing in the open air, which nothing else in the Alps offers. The Glacier Garden, a bed of glacial potholes left by the last ice age, follows. · Central Switzerland
A day split between the mountain and the museum. Mount Titlis is reached by cable car with a rotating final stage, and the summit sits on a glacier. The Swiss Transport Museum follows, and your ticket also admits you to the Chocolate Adventure inside it. · Central Switzerland
A day to explore the region on your own using the travel pass — the lake steamers, the old town of Lucerne and the mountains behind it are all covered by it.
