Met at the airport and driven into the city. The first evening is for the Old Town Square, the astronomical clock striking the hour, and dinner in the lanes behind it. Overnight in Prague. · Prague · Private airport transfer
A guided walk that starts on Charles Bridge before the crowds and climbs to Prague Castle — St Vitus Cathedral, the Golden Lane, and the view back over the red roofs — then down through the Lesser Town. The afternoon is free for the Jewish Quarter or the river. Overnight in Prague. · Prague
A private car south to Český Krumlov, the walled town folded into a bend of the Vltava beneath its castle — a full day with the castle tower, the painted facades and lunch by the river, and back to Prague in the evening. Overnight in Prague. · Prague · Private car
Four hours south-east by train to Vienna. The afternoon is the Ringstrasse and the centre — St Stephen's Cathedral, the Graben, and coffee and cake in one of the old cafés, which is a Viennese institution rather than a snack. Overnight in Vienna. · Vienna · Inter-city train
Schönbrunn Palace with a timed entry in the morning — the state rooms and the gardens up to the Gloriette — then a guided walk of the Hofburg quarter, the Spanish Riding School and the Opera in the afternoon. Overnight in Vienna. · Vienna
Nothing fixed. The Belvedere for Klimt's Kiss, the Prater and its giant wheel for families, the Naschmarkt for lunch, or a day out to the Wachau valley on the Danube — your specialist will book whichever you choose. Overnight in Vienna. · Vienna
Under three hours to Budapest. The afternoon is a guided walk of the Pest side — the Parliament, St Stephen's Basilica, the Chain Bridge — and the evening is a cruise on the Danube with the city lit on both banks. Overnight in Budapest. · Budapest · Inter-city train
Across the river to Buda in the morning: the castle hill, the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church, with the view back over the Parliament. The afternoon in the Széchenyi thermal baths, which is how Budapest spends its afternoons. A last dinner in the ruin bars quarter. Overnight in Budapest. · Budapest
