Day-by-day itinerary
Met at the airport and driven into the city, with the evening in the Plaka lanes beneath the Acropolis. Overnight in Athens.
The Acropolis and its museum in the morning with a guide, and the Ancient Agora and Monastiraki in the afternoon. Overnight in Athens.
Out to the Cyclades and up onto the caldera rim, with Fira and the cliff path for the evening. Overnight on Santorini.
The blue domes and lanes of the northern village, and the sunset over the caldera from the village or from Ammoudi below it. Overnight on Santorini.
A boat to the volcanic islets and the hot springs in the morning, and the black-sand coast at Perissa in the afternoon. Overnight on Santorini.
Two hours north to the largest of the Cyclades, with the Portara — the marble doorway of an unfinished temple — standing alone on its islet above the harbour. The old town's lanes climb to the castle, and the sunset is from the Portara. Overnight on Naxos.
Inland by car to the mountain villages — Halki with its citron distillery, Apiranthos built of marble, the quarries with their unfinished ancient statues — and the long west-coast beaches at Plaka or Agios Prokopios for the afternoon. Overnight on Naxos.
A short hop across the strait to Paros. Naoussa's fishing harbour, with its boats, its tavernas at the water's edge and the lanes behind, is the base for the next three nights. Overnight on Paros.
The Byzantine church of the Hundred Doors at Parikia, one of the oldest in Greece, and the marble villages of Lefkes and Marpissa inland. A beach for the afternoon — Kolymbithres across the bay from Naoussa, with its granite boulders. Overnight on Paros.
The ten-minute crossing to Antiparos, the least developed island of the trip: its cave, its single village and its beaches, taken slowly. Back to Naoussa for a last harbour dinner. Overnight on Paros.
The flight or ferry back to Athens for your journey home.
