You are met at Rovaniemi airport and driven to your hotel in a private vehicle. In the evening you go out on a northern lights tour. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed on any given night, whatever the forecast says. · Rovaniemi
A visit to Santa's Village, which straddles the Arctic Circle line just outside the town, followed by a snowmobile run out to a reindeer farm. Reindeer herding is a working occupation in Lapland rather than a display, and the farms are part of that. · Rovaniemi
A day at the Ranua wildlife park, south of Rovaniemi, where the animals are Arctic and subarctic species kept in their own climate rather than transplanted into it — brown bears, lynx, wolverine and polar bears among them. · Rovaniemi
