Day-by-day itinerary
Met at the airport and driven into the city, with dinner in Plaka under the floodlit rock. Overnight in Athens.
The Acropolis at opening with a guide, the museum below it, and the Ancient Agora after lunch, where the city did its business beneath the temple of Hephaestus. The evening in Psiri or Monastiraki. Overnight in Athens.
Out to the Cyclades by fast ferry, arriving beneath the cliffs, and a private transfer up to the caldera rim. Fira and the cliff path for the afternoon, and the first sunset. Overnight on Santorini.
The cliff path from Fira towards Imerovigli in the cool of the morning, then Oia by car for its lanes and blue domes, and the sunset from the village or from Ammoudi port below it. Overnight on Santorini.
A boat to the volcanic islets in the caldera and the hot springs beside them in the morning, and the black-sand beaches on the south-east coast in the afternoon, or Akrotiri for the buried Bronze Age town. Overnight on Santorini.
Two hours north across the open sea to Mykonos. Chora's whitewashed lanes, the windmills above the harbour and Little Venice at sunset, when the waterfront bars fill. Overnight on Mykonos.
The short crossing to the sanctuary island for a guided morning among the lions, the mosaics and the theatre, then back for lunch and an afternoon on the nearest beach. Overnight on Mykonos.
A free day on the south coast — Agios Sostis or Fokos for quiet, Ornos and Platis Gialos for families, Paradise and Super Paradise for the opposite — and a last evening in Chora. Overnight on Mykonos.
