London & Paris — 6 Nights

Met at Heathrow and driven into the city. The first afternoon is kept light — the South Bank along the Thames, Westminster Bridge at dusk with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament across the water, and dinner near the hotel. Overnight in London.

The Tower of London at opening for the Crown Jewels and the ravens, then the river boat upstream past St Paul's and the London Eye to Westminster. A guided walk of Westminster Abbey's surroundings, Whitehall and Buckingham Palace in the afternoon, with the hop-on hop-off bus for the rest of the day. Overnight in London.

A choice: the British Museum and Covent Garden, the London Eye and a West End show in the evening; or a day out to Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world, an hour from the city by train. Families sometimes use this day for the Harry Potter studio tour, which we can book. Overnight in London.

A private transfer to St Pancras and the Eurostar under the Channel to Gare du Nord, about two and a quarter hours. The afternoon is the Seine and the Île de la Cité, and the evening a river cruise as the bridges light up. Overnight in Paris.

The Eiffel Tower with pre-booked tickets in the morning and the Trocadéro for the view back, then a guided route through the Louvre in the afternoon — the pieces you came for, without the rest. The Tuileries on the walk back. Overnight in Paris.

The palace and gardens at Versailles, which take most of a day, or Disneyland Paris for families — both under an hour from the city by train and both pre-booked. Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur in the evening for anyone with energy left, and a last Paris dinner. Overnight in Paris.
