Good to Know

Frequently asked

The UK is outside the Schengen area, so the trip needs a UK Standard Visitor visa for London and one Schengen visa for France, Switzerland and Italy. The Schengen application goes through Italy on this itinerary, which has the most nights among the three. Both can be applied for from India at the same time; allow eight weeks so neither is rushed. Your specialist prepares the itinerary and hotel confirmations each application asks for.
Direct flights from India land at Heathrow in the morning, the first days are gentle, and the Eurostar then carries you south in one step. Starting in London also means the route travels in one direction — London, Paris, the Alps, then down through Italy — and you fly home from Rome, which most airlines serve. The reverse works if your fares favour it.
For four countries it is the honest length: each capital gets three nights, the Alps three, and Italy four across three cities. Cutting Florence and one Swiss night makes it eleven. Going shorter than that means dropping a country, which is what the London & Paris, Paris & Switzerland and Paris, Switzerland & Italy journeys on this site are for.
Six inter-city trains in thirteen nights, all reserved: the Eurostar, Paris to Switzerland, the Alps to Venice with one change, and three short Italian hops. The longest is the day over the Alps at about six hours, which is the day the mountains give way to the Italian plain from a train window. Every hotel is chosen to be a short taxi ride or walk from its station.
Both, easily. Disneyland takes the third Paris day in place of the free day, and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour outside London takes the free London day — it must be booked months ahead, so tell us early. Families often take both; couples usually keep the free days. Neither changes the route or the night count.
