Met at the airport and driven into the walled old town, fifteen minutes away. The Town Hall Square and the lanes around it for the evening. Overnight in Tallinn.
A guided walk through the old town — the walls and towers, Toompea hill with its cathedral and the viewing platforms, and the merchants' houses below — then the baroque Kadriorg palace and its park in the afternoon. Overnight in Tallinn.
Four and a half hours south along the coast to Riga, the largest of the three capitals. The old town and the House of the Blackheads in the afternoon, and dinner in the Central Market's old zeppelin hangars. Overnight in Riga.
A guided walk of the old town and the art nouveau district around Alberta Street, then a free afternoon for the museums or the riverside. Overnight in Riga.
A private car to Sigulda for the Turaida castle and the wooded Gauja valley, then west to the long beach and wooden villas of Jūrmala on the way back. Overnight in Riga.
